My Story

I feel that my unique combination of skills as an actress, being a highly sensitive person and growing up with the influences of both Arab and British culture, helps me support my clients from a place of empathy and awareness.

I grew up in Jordan with an Arab father and British mother and then trained professionally as an actress in England. However there were many challenges pursuing my career once I married and returned to the Middle-East.

I had worked hard to become a household name in the Arab world and had two beautiful children, but juggling everything felt impossible and I was constantly feeling guilty and anxious as I tried to be Superwoman!

So I started to practice mindfulness, reiki, transcendental meditation and eventually trained as a transformational life coach when I moved back to England. I combined my passion for creating positive change with comedy and playfulness. The result was The Rania Show, playing five female characters that challenge cultural issues through short comedy sketches. It earned me the title of “The Arab Tracey Ullman’ and was subsequently used as teaching material at Stanford university. I also collaborated with the UNFPA to create awareness sketches about sexual and reproductive health.

I am an advocate for LGBTQ+ equal rights, proud ambassador to The Children of War Foundation and host my own podcast Breaking Free with Rania Kurdi.

“Rania is an inspiring, feminist, thought-leader with a refreshing perspective on what it means to be a woman in twenty first century society. Her sessions inspired me to explore myself and my existing beliefs around self-expression, to regain my personal power and feel more confident and courageous in my daily life. She helped me realize that what I wear and how I look on the outside is for my own enjoyment and fulfillment! By reminding us, as women, to look inwards rather than outwards for validation, Rania invites self-exploration and self-love that are refreshing, liberating and fun.”
